Our location in Abbott Park, Illinois currently has an opportunity for an Associate Scientist.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Conduct research under the guidance of a research scientist, project coordinator, or R&D manager. Direct own daily activities utilizing multiple experimental techniques and incorporates appropriate procedures. Correlate and verify ideas through experimentation. Interact with other groups and shares information; participate in team activities.
Main responsibilities include:
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
Understandsand consistently follows documented procedures.
Conduct experiments, summarize data and analyzes results, formulate and review experimental conclusions with supervisor.
Actively participate in routine maintenance, lab safety; may assume roles of responsibility, such as training or document control.
Apply basic computer skills (includes word processing, spreadsheets, instrumentation-related and Abbott network systems).
Recognize and assist with the resolution of technical problems. May prepare and deliver presentations of project results to own or other groups.

Present information accurately and completely.
Participate in planning project tasks; providing input to accomplish assigned tasks.
Appropriately document experimental procedures and results according to established guidelines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Required
B.S. or Master’s degree in a life or physical science.
Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics
Preferred
The following are ideal/optional:
BS Chemistry or Biology
1 year of general lab experience
Experience with Alinity or Architect Abbott instruments
