Amgen R&D Center Discovery Research group focus on membrane proteins such as G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), to uncover related mechanism of signaling and study them as potential drug targets.

Assay development and screening group at Amgen Asia R&D (Shanghai) Center is looking for a highly self-motivated Associate Scientist to work on development and execution of in vitro chemical and/or cell-based assay. The successful candidate should have a M.S. degree with relevant industrial experience in assay technology, or be a fresh Ph.D with hand-on assay experiences.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Run general molecular biological experiments.
• Develop and execute in vitro assays to support different projects.
• Data analysis and report results to the company database and project teams.

Required skills:

• Hand-on experiences with molecular and cellular biology techniques including molecular cloning, vector construction, maintenance of mammalian cell cultures and primary cells, DNA/RNA/ protein detection assays (qPCR/WB/IHC).
• Experience with in vitro biochemical or cell-based assays
• Neuronal science background is preferred.
• Team player with good communication and presentation skills
• Proven ability to multi-task, work independently, meet timelines and work accurately

Basic qualifications:

• Fresh Ph. D; or M.S. degree with experiences in biotech or pharmaceutical industry
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking in Chinese and English
