Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will join a fast-paced team to discover novel therapeutic and reagent antibodies.
Amgen’s Therapeutic Discovery organization is seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative Senior Associate/Associate Scientist to join the Antibody Discovery Team working onsite at our Amgen British Columbia site. The position would involve the isolation and manipulation of primary B-cells; hybridoma generation; the optimization and execution of novel screens and assay development. Well-suited applicant will have broad laboratory training, deep scientific curiosity and a positive approach to working in a team-based research environment. This individual will also have a track record of creative problem-solving and enthusiasm for tackling difficult research challenges.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
FACS analysis of primary and immortalized cell populations
Isolation, manipulation, and immortalization of primary B-cells; generation and characterization of hybridoma panels
Experiments advancing established and new antibody discovery platforms; assay development
Frequent communication within the Cell Sciences Team, and other teams at the site; data compilation and presentation

Basic Qualifications
Master’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry and 2 years of scientific laboratory experience
ORBachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry and 4 years of scientific laboratory experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in antibody discovery technologies including hybridoma
Demonstrated experience in flow cytometry (FACS)
Expertise with aseptic cell culture techniques including:
· Isolation and culture of primary immune cells
· Cell line generation including experience with transfection on mammalian expression platforms
Experience with biochemical screens including ELISA and basic cellular imaging techniques and analysis
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Thrives as a team player in a dynamic, cross-functional environment
Demonstrated scientific analysis and problem-solving skills
