General Position Summary/Purpose: We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work within the Precision Medicine Pathology Group to support the development and commercialization of medically-differentiated therapies in oncology, inflammation and neurobiology. This position will require the execution of routine IHC assays for use in clinical trials as well as translational based research programs and to provide routine histological support such as trimming, embedding, sectioning and special staining of tissues. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment and will participate as a member of a multidisciplinary, cross-functional development project teams. Key Responsibilities Implementation of routine IHC assays for individual projects and/or key therapeutic areas with a key responsibility to ensure delivery of IHC assays to meet project timelines. Approximately 75% of your time will be spent on this aspect of the work. In some cases minimal assay development of IHC assays may be required. Implementation of routine histological methods such as trimming, embedding, sectioning and special staining of both animal and human tissues. Approximately 25% of your time will be spent on this aspect of the work. Scanning and organization of IHC and special stained slides that will be imaged and migrated into an image hub for review by Scientists, Pathologists and other relevant individuals. Qualifications Desired Skills and Experience: Undergraduate degree in Biology, Physiology, Cell Biology or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a lab environment. ASCP certification highly preferred but not required. Highly accomplished Associate Science degree holders with 4+ years of experience will also be considered. Demonstrates experience in IHC techniques using platforms such as the DAKO, Lecia BOND Rx and/or Ventana autostaining platforms. Experience with multiplexing techniques highly desirable but not required. Familiarity with the principles of histological techniques including but not limited to trimming, paraffin embedding, sectioning and special staining of tissue sections. Experience with frozen tissues desirable but not required. Hands-on experience with imaging platforms such as the Aperio AT2 and Polaris imaging systems highly desirable. Must be able to work independently within a positive team setting and pay high attention to detail. Must also have strong verbal, communication and organizational skills and must be collaborative, comfortable and be able to adapt to constantly shifting priorities.
