To underpin our commitment to serve patients, the Translational Safety and Bioanalytical Sciences organization at Amgen is hiring an Associate Scientist in translational immunology.
Position Responsibilities
The primary task of this position is to work closely with research scientists within the group and collaborate with multi-functional groups to support cytokine analysis of non-clinical toxicity study samples and in vitro assay samples. The candidate will leverage and need to be proficient with multiple immunological techniques, specifically Luminex platform, ELISA, MSD and in vitro immune cell assays. The second task for the candidate is to explore new immune related safety biomarker analysis and increase group capabilities in the field. The candidate is expected to perform data analysis and draft study reports, and have good communication and presentation skills.
Basic Qualifications
Master’s degree and 2 years of scientific experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of scientific experience
Preferred Qualifications
BS with 6+ years of scientific experience or MS and 3+ years of scientific experience in molecular and cellular immunology
Immunology experience, and possessing immunological techniques including Luminex platform, ELISA, MSD and in vitro immune cell assays
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and is highly motivated, creative and collaborative
Ability to troubleshoot and work independently on experimental design, execution and data analysis
Comfort in working with PBMC and whole blood from non-clinical species
Comfort in working in a highly interactive and vibrant environment and a passion for teamwork
Ability to synthesize and present results in PowerPoint format in both internal and external group meetings
