The role will combine strong Cell Culture technical knowledge and business acumen to support the delivery of commercial goals for the business unit in the Asia Pacific Region. The role is primarily responsible for accelerating the growth in a complex sales environment where expertise and specialization are required.
They will also be responsible for defining the most effective product and solution strategy relevant to the specific regional markets in Asia Pacific, and ensuring the regional commercial organisation, regional Technical Services Organisation (TSO/FAS) and the Divisional Business Unit are fully aligned and capable of executing this strategy. This individual will be responsible for the accelerated growth of the portfolio under their leadership.
Key Objectives of the role:
• Ensure optimal utilization of appropriate technologies, products, and services within their manufacturing processes (i.e. design and development, optimization and scale-up, adoption and qualification).
• Coordinate CC TSS (technical sales specialists) activity in the Asia Pacific region and ensure alignment with the sales teams to ensure we deliver on our corporate commitments and ensure our customers achieve their critical success factors in terms of meeting their business goals. To do this we must ensure our products and support activities deliver tangible cost savings within a process by, for example, improving yields or reducing the lead time to bring new customer products to market.
• Act as the regional SME and coordinate with the country/region commercial teams and technical sales teams to identify opportunities, drive customer engagement, and grow the business.
• He/she will work across the region more closely by leveraging knowledge and customer relationships to drive commercial success.
• Build relationships with channel partners, key accounts and Key Opinion Leaders in the life science and bioproduction industry.
• Keep abreast of market intelligence including trends, competitors and key accounts developments. Ensure robust new business pipeline and recurring business are well-maintained to meet or exceed APAC regional and country specific CC Annual Operating Plans.
• Build relationships with channel partners, key accounts and Key Opinion Leaders in the life science and bioproduction industry.
• Mapping and providing comprehensive competitive awareness, and critical voice of the customer (VOC) from APAC countries to Regional Marketing and Product Management.
• Keep abreast of market intelligence including trends, competitors and key accounts developments.
• Coordinate with the Regional Marketing Management and regional/local FAS, on execution of training programs and workshops on the application and capabilities of the CC portfolio.
• Identifying and executing on best sales practices within APAC countries for the CC portfolio.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biotechnology or related field.
• 8-10 years minimum experience in technical sales/marketing in a related industry with experience in selling to the bioprocess industry preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to be effective in a globally matrixed organisation
• Able to work independently with limited day-to-day management supervision.
• Frequent Travel will be required up to 50%
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills being well versed in value selling techniques and the ability to sell up into organisations.
• Strong track record of selling complex Product/Technology solutions within the Life Science industry.
• Knowledge of how to handle sales opportunities with complex and lengthy sales cycles.
• Ability to multi-task with an attention to detail.
• Must have strong customer service and relationship building skills within industrial marketplaces.
• Well versed in Word, Excel, and PPT at a minimum.
