Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of engineers to deliver design, consulting and/or advisory services specifically associated with wheel-rail interaction and rail noise and vibration
• Prepare preliminary and detailed design of trackwork including alignment, trackforms, switches and crossings, components and fixings
• Interface with civil engineering and system engineering designers to produce coordinated design setting out clear demarcation at the interface and with trackside services properly accommodated
• Review and monitor design submissions from trackwork designers / contractors and provide clear and concise comments
• Develop new areas of business in relations to “total design” including trackwork
• Provide mentoring and guidance to team members

Qualifications and Experiences required:

• Degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Corporate Membership of HKIE or an equivalent professional institution
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in trackwork design in a client or consulting organisation undertaking major railway projects
• Experience in trackwork construction to better appreciate constructability issue is a must
• Experience in brownfield or maintenance work in an operating railway environment is preferred
• Able to use alignment design software such as InRail and OpenRail
• Knowledge in adopting different types of trackform such as ballasted, concrete tie, floating slab, “booted” and/or resilience baseplate under different environmental requirements
• Fluent in English and any Asian languages, especially Putonghua is highly preferred
