The intern in this position will be working hands on with a project that is focusing on several load stations. The project will focus on developing the process to achieve 85% associate utilization. It will involve identifying current state, developing plans to improve, and then delivering ideas to achieve the required result. The cell layout and standards of 6’s would also be used as a measure of improvement. A standard work order sheet would be replaced with a new state process and the associates training in that new process

The qualified intern should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:

• Ensure current state work instructions are correct and being followed.
• Using a small team with local knowledge develop new processes to ensure 85% utilization of all associates.
• Identifying opportunities for improvements in the area layouts and standards.
• Make progress and action transparent to the business with a Value-Added map for the area.
• Capture and plan all Automation improvement ideas and make plans transparent.
• Put forward proposals to increase associate utilization to 85% and assist in the delivery.
• Use these proposals to track cost reduction.

• IT literate.
• Knowledge of Production Engineering.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.
• Able to communicate to all levels of function.
• Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
• Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
• Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours / week).
• Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
• MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. 
• Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term. 
• THE WORK TERM DATES ARE (01/03/2022 - 05/06/2022).
