Practice Areas
CSD team members are specialized in one of two practice areas: Corporate Strategy or Corporate Development. Corporate Strategy professionals focus on strategy development at the corporate level and work directly with Enterprise Strategy Leads at the Group and Business levels of the organization. Corporate Development professionals focus on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures at every level of the organization. Each individual’s assignments and experiences will be based on Cargill’s business needs, as well as personal capabilities and development goals. CSD team in Shanghai is currently recruiting an Associate from investment bank, private equity, Big 4 (Corporate Finance team) or multi-national corporation for the Corporate Development practice area.

Principal Accountabilities主要职责
1.70% Transaction Execution
  • Work on teams supporting all transaction types – mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures (“MADJV”). Partner with commercial units throughout the company and across the Greater China region to execute transactions ranging in size from $5 million to $1+ billion across a range of business units.
  • Apply a broad understanding of principles and practices tied to a corporate finance and transaction strategy.
  • Develop recommendations to solve issues related to MADJV transactions and suggest improvements to current practices.
  • Apply relevant transaction knowledge to provide advanced analytical assessment and process management.
  • Plan and coordinate business reviews, resource allocations, organization structures and financial analysis.
  • Help prepare acquisition proposals, support in recommending financial and nonfinancial strategic objectives and alternatives, and support implementation and maintenance of strategic and operational plans.
  • Internally support the corporate development practice through proactive leadership and coaching.

2.20% Business Strategy Alignment
  • Provide advanced analysis in assessing and valuing new business opportunities.
  • Partner with corporate strategy colleagues to ensure transaction targets align with business strategy.
  • Develop and evaluate industry research, trends and comparable transactions.

3.10% Advisory & Team activities
  • Partner with financial leadership to analyze past and prospective transactions and financing structures.
  • Liaise on strategy and business development matters with internal leaders and external parties.
  • Take part in CSD organized training and team activities

Qualifications

1.Minimum Required Qualifications最低要求
  • Undergraduate degree from a reputable university with a superior academic track record
  • At least 3 to 5 years of M&A experience in an investment bank, renowned private equity, Big 4 Corporate Finance, or corporate development function of a multi-national corporation with direct exposure to China
  • Native level language proficiency (verbal & written) in Mandarin and English. Ability to produce solid CxO level materials for both external and internal stakeholders
  • Track record of M&A deal executions with demonstrated technical skills including solid background of financial & valuation, structuring, due diligence and legal documentation aspects of transactions
  • Results driven and ability to take ownership while holding self and others accountable
  • Ability to think strategically and see the big picture and understand the mechanics and tactics around deal making
  • Strong team player and an ability to lead teams across diverse backgrounds and ability to work with other teams across functions and businesses on deals
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

2.Preferred Qualifications更合适的要求
  • MBA from a top globally recognized business school is preferred but not required
  • M&A experience both in China and overseas
  • Experience and/or understanding of agriculture industry
