1. First principles approaches to predict the electronic structures, electronic, and thermal properties and transport properties of materials. (Focus is on use of methods and not on method development.)

2. Atomistic simulation, DFT, Classical molecular dynamics, tight-binding theory, surface reactions, electron bandstructure, phonon spectrum
