Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking an Automation Industry 4.0 Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Cleveland, Tennessee facility. Relocation Assistance will be provided. Position Overview: The Automation I4.0 Engineer will plan, organize, and control the overall Manufacturing programs which will result in significant advancements in productivity, product cost, quality and/or the maintenance of the plant facilities equipment and its production process. S/he will perform a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique design applications. In this function you will: Manage Industry 4.0 projects including automation, Digital core, IIoT, additive manufacturing, systems integration at the Cleveland, TN plant and manage project objectivities and timelines. Develop approaches to solving problems in processes, tooling, equipment, facilities, and cost utilizing Industry 4.0 methodologies. Plan, detail, and implement required industrialization methods, tooling, and equipment into the manufacturing operation. Establish and maintain departmental expense and capital expenditures with pre-established budgets and timelines. Assist in the development of the technical, engineering and support talent. Maintain a high morale level within departments and promote goodwill in and out of the company. Provide documented standard work procedures that will effectively control specific requirements. Provide support to Quality Programs to improve product, process, and procedural integrity. Support Change Control, Special Characteristic identification, relevant ISO procedures, Engineering work Instructions as well as Eaton’s Environmental Health and Safety Process (MESH). Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, and processes. Investigate and resolve operational problems, such as material use variances and process bottlenecks. Identify opportunities and implement changes to improve manufacturing processes or products or to reduce costs, using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts. Apply continuous improvement methods utilizing lean manufacturing processes to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing. When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technical Science degree Minimum of 3 years of experience showing proficiency in manufacturing process or manufacturing support of products using mechanical or electrical principals Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred qualifications: Masters Degree from an accredited institution Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt) Lean, OpA or MESH subject matter expert/category champion Assembly Automation Experience Experience with AutoCAD Knowledge of Inventor 3D modeling software Knowledge of SAP, advanced Excel skills Project Management experience with "Microsoft Project" We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
