Are youpassionateaboutcreating new possibilities? We are looking for an Automation Engineer with C/C++ experience to join our team in Minnetonka, MN. You will be working with the project delivery team to design, develop, test, and deliver front-end communication components mainly based on existing protocol standards. These components are integrated and delivered as part of Siemens EMS/SCADA software solutions. Furthermore, you will be working in a team with experienced professionals of Siemens Energy Management solutions, delivering projects to global customers. Your responsibility will be to identify and troubleshoot the specific customer needs and issues by applying your knowledge about various communication protocols like IEC101, IEC104, DNP3, as well as ICCP/TASE. It's your role, here's the part you can play: Analyze the specific project request and provide solution to it Perform configuration for specific IEC protocol and specific equipment Negotiate with Clients about their specific needs Debug code in order to find a cause of the problem Write a new code to correct the problem or to create a new feature for the Client Analyze protocol communication between RTU’s and Control Center\ Perform Point-to-Point testing before new station is going live Be part of your team, here’s what’s needed: Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Information Technology, Engineering or related field Minimum of 3 years in technical or electrical engineering within transmission or distribution operation, including relevant Project Delivery experience Experience with one of the following: SCADA systems, mission critical systems or Network Grid Control Centers software Experience in protocol analysis and RTU communication in general Ability to communicate effectively, highly technical information, clearly and concisely to peers, management, and customers Fluent English language skills Extremely partner-focused, proactive and effective within a team environment Software development experience with C/C++ Additional relevant, but not necessary experience include: Schell scripting (Bash, ksh, csh) Experience with Agile methodologies like Scrum Experience with Linux, Windows, and AIX Platforms Software development experience with Java, Python, XML, Perl We've got a lot to offer: An opportunity to work with innovative and modern technologies - products and services in the field of electrification, automation, and digitalization Competitive compensation (salary and bonus based on qualifications) Health, dental, and vision plans with options Matching 401(k) Unlimited Flexible Time Off Paid parental leave Extensive product training and professional career development Education and tuition reimbursement programs available Siemens is recognized as being a top employer for diversity, sustainability, innovation, and technology.
