Role Description:

Reporting to Director IS; Responsibilities include:

• Leading a group of process automation professionals in managing the manufacturing site Automation Systems, Automation Systems include, primarily, Emerson DeltaV, Siemens BMS/QEMS, and all site PLC’s to ensure smooth production with the reliable, cyber-resilient automation systems.
• Maintain all GMP systems in a state of compliance with all applicable regulations, including 21 CFR Part 11
• Manage suppliers / vendors providing Automation support services
• Manage team performance through appropriate use of performance and compliance metrics
• Manage team and ensure work plans and priorities are aligned and coordinated with the site and network.
• Support department financial management responsibilities through planning, forecasting, and tracking of operating and capital automation budgets
• Strong cross-functional stakeholder interaction skills including collaboration, communication, prioritization.
• Participate in Site Leadership as a member of the ASM XLT

This position is located at Amgen’s Singapore Manufacturing facility in Tuas, Singapore.

Education / Licenses

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Life Sciences
• Doctorate degree and 4 years of directly related experience or Master’s degree and 8 years of directly related experience or Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of directly related experience or Associate’s degree and 10 years of  directly related experience.

Relevant Experience

• Must have at least 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, and programs or directing the allocation of resources
• 6+ years experience in automation system design and/or operation and support, particularly in biotechnology or pharmaceutical bulk operations
• Must have experience with Level 2 Automation systems and be particularly proficient in Emerson, Rockwell and Siemens technology
• Experience in leading the Medium / Large scale automation or IS related projects
• Experience in the installation, administration, and troubleshooting computer data networks and servers is preferred
• Experience with enterprise systems, validation, testing and change control

Competencies / Skills

• Proven skills in supporting automation systems in a GMP regulated environment
• Knowledgeable in ISPE’s GAMP and ANSI/ISA-S95 as well as S88
• Thorough knowledge of the business processes within the areas of specialization, as well as comprehensive understanding of the configuration of the above systems for which the role is responsible
• Ability to master, with minimal support, new IS technologies and processes
• Experience using a document management system for authoring, reviewing and approving systems documentation, a commitment tracking system for managing non-conformance events and associated corrective/preventive actions, and a change management system
• Strong team player who is able to collaborate with colleagues on complex tasks and can provide leadership through influence to achieve desired results
• Excellent written, oral and presentation skills, including the ability to set managerial context for complex issues
• Proficient with standard office productivity software, such as Microsoft Office
