We are looking for an Automation Project Specialist (APS) acts as project coordinator for automation and Atellica solutions hardware installation from pre-sale to implementation including development of CAD drawings, automation configuration, customer support for utility requirements and environmental the responsibilities include working with the Project Manager (PM), Automation Informatics Manager(AIM), Sales, Automation Informatics Specialist, HCS and Automation Hardware Consultants (AHC)to provide support for automation implementations. The APS provides all AutoCAD drawings and feasibility logic for lab installations. The APS provides pre-sales support for Siemen’s automation and Atellica solutions configuration. The APS will possess an above average knowledge level of Siemens' automation systems. Key Responsibilities: • Serve as Project Coordinator for automation hardware installations. This includes Pre-Sale site visits to customer accounts to determine feasibility of lab space to accommodate automation system. • Develop AutoCAD drawings for automation configurations and completes configuration form/ Automation checklist based on automation layout. • Help develop timelines and implementation strategy and actively participate via conference call or onsite with customer and local teams. • Responsible for coordinating the delivery of Automation components at specific times through the project. They will work with architects and contractors to provide environmental requirements (water, power, waste, air, heat generation, etc.) • Responsible for conducting a site visit within 30 days of delivery to determine site readiness (utilities, measurements, delivery route of components, area for automation is prepped and ready). In addition to new installations, they will plan track extensions – track change/configuration forms, new instrument connectivity to existing automation and automation system relocations. They will assist local team with site surveys for Atellica solutions, automation and other instrumentation as needed. Qualifications: • BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Extensive working knowledge of AutoCAD is required. Ability to explain electrical, plumbing and data connection requirements to electricians, plumbers and IT resources is recommended. • Aptitude for workflow concepts, process analysis and reengineering of workspace are recommended. • Experience with MS Office Visio, Publisher and Adobe preferred. • Experience in laboratory workflow or hospital setting is preferred. • Ability to Travel within and outside the region more than 50% of the time; to include Mon-Fri overnight travel as needed.
