Daimler Autonomous Technology Group (ATG) develops and rigorously tests the SAE Level 4 vehicle platform – and that testing requires the right tools! This role of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Development Engineer focuses on developing the capability to perform early tests of vehicle ECUs outside of the full vehicle environment. This involves detailed functional modeling, vehicle dynamics modeling, and component integration. In this role you will work closely with component developers and other HIL developers across the globe. We are looking for a motivated and engaged individual with a technical and detail oriented mindset.
Responsibilities

- Contribute to development of the ATG HIL platforms through technical development and coordination of global partners

- Develop software models for restbus ECU simulation and integration of hardware elements

- Support design, selection, and buildup of HIL system infrastructure and new capabilities

- Support development of automated testing and reporting capabilities

- Work with system developers (motion control, body controls, and power net) to understand necessary requirements and technical implementation of interface functions

- Collaborate with platform simulation and HIL developers to integrate development tools

- Generate documentation on the design and usage of developed tools and support the usage of the HIL platform by various testing groups.
