Responsible for interacting with business and technology leaders, understand their business goals, create, architect, propose, develop and deliver technology solutions design, and develop end to end modern data architecture especially in Azure Cloud Technologies and Environments

Key responsibilities

• Design & build data architectures including the design & set-up of scalable (big) data lakes (full cloud or hybrid cloud), scheduled transformations & data governance
• Design and build modern data pipelines and data streams
• Design and build data service APIs
• Expose data to end users using Power BI, Azure API Apps or other modern visualization platform or experience
• Analyze current business practices, processes and procedures and identify future opportunities for leveraging Microsoft Azure data & analytics PaaS services.
• Support the planning and implementation of data platform services including sizing, configuration, and needs assessment
• Implement effective metrics and monitoring processes
• Work as a trusted advisor to our businesses
• Assist the project team in deploying data applications including, if needed, close-to real-time architectures

Support / Standardize

• Provide in-depth technical consultation and leadership to ensure the development of efficient Azure Data Engineering by utilizing established methodologies and best practices
• Ensure that existing guidelines, standards and best practices are followed and applied to development projects
• Perform effective knowledge transfer to ensure that the required design approach and data/coding changes are understood by the support teams that will be maintaining the delivered applications
• Provide subject-matter expertise for the data architectural design and direction of the analytic platform
• Take ownership for issues to reach resolutions to prevent recurrences
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues under tight deadlines
• Proactively identify the impact of potential process changes, integrate new initiatives with existing processes, and ensure that all processes are consistent and fit together.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managements, business users, expertise from other technical areas, and peers
• Evolve approach to meet new and changing business requirements
• Ability to provide development estimates based on user requirements and elaborate on impact analysis for existing systems

Overall responsibilities:

•    Architect, develop and deploy (both hybrid cloud & full cloud) data architectures in Microsoft Azure
•    Act as data engineer expert on the latest trends in the data analytics landscape and share best practices with the internal team
•    Leverage latest technologies in building scalable and best-practice set-ups
•    Inspire the business with insights & opportunities on new data-driven use-cases
•    Work with external vendors and partner technologies including (but not limited to) Azure
•    Embrace project management aimed towards getting the job done. This will include working with client data engineers and data scientists but also business stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experiences

• Certifications in data integration tooling, including Azure, Informatica, Talend Data Factory or equivalent
• Strong understanding & familiarity with Azure Ecosystem components 
• Hands-on programming experience in Data Modelling, Database trouble shooting and ETL optimization
• Experience working with NoSQL in at least one of the data stores - HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB or equivalent
• Experience and knowledge in investment is a must
• Experience and knowledge with SAP application and Power BI using ETL for data transformation would be an advantaged
• Solid understanding of ETL methodologies in a multi-tiered stack, integrating with Big Data systems like Hadoop and Cassandra.
• Experience with IBM Datastage
• Experience with BI, and data analytics databases
• Experience in converting business problems/challenges to technical solutions considering security, performance, scalability etc.
• Knowledge in Big data architecture patterns
• Experience in Enterprise grade solution implementations.
• Experience in Data security [on the move, at rest]
• Strong in Linux and Windows Environments

Communication Requirements

Internal

• Work with cross teams within EASC.
• Liaises with necessary AIA colleagues outside EASC to ensure delivery of the functional work as required.
• Attend to audit queries from Group Internal Audit and LBU Internal Audit
• ensuring all enquiries and evidence are provided within agreed timeline.

External

• Attend to external audit queries ensuring all enquiries and evidence are provided within agreed timeline.

Reporting Structure and Supervisory / Managerial Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage between 3 to 5 Specialist / Lead Specialist:
• Manages, guides and lead team into doing the right things and in the right way to obtain the right results.
• Sets goals for team members and manages their job performance.
• Ensures team efficiency, productive and with deliverables with quality.
