Job Description

The Bar Manager and Sommelier for Black Sheep Restaurants Greek Restaurant is responsible for managing the bar, wine and beverage program, assisting to curate a drinks menu and training the team on wine and beverage matching. This person will work directly with the owners, Restaurant Managers and Chefs. He/she should have prior experience in this role, as well as knowledge and experience with various types of global beverage knowledge and techniques and a firm understand of Asian cuisines/beverage – Thai Specifically. This person may also be tasked with concept development for some forthcoming projects.

Specific responsibilities include maintaining high quality and consistency for all beverage, menu and recipe development, staff hiring and training.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of three-five years working experience in the hospitality industry
  • Extensive training, including WSET certificates
  • Certified as a Sommelier
  • Experience in cellar management
  • The ability and knowledge to teach spirit and cocktail pairings to junior and local staff
  • Experience working in cities round the world; understanding of multiple cultures and cuisines
  • Experience in managing bars, in order to control beverage costs and regulate standards
  • Superior English written and oral communications skills
  • Experience creating and managing concept restaurant openings strongly desired
  • Strong knowledge of Thai beverage and cuisine

 

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25,000.00 /month
