RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Bar Manager at Black Sheep Restaurants is responsible for overseeing the flow of service and catering to the individual needs of restaurant guests and the bar programme. This staff member will support the Restaurant Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager and the Restaurant Team. He/she will ensure the acclaimed bar programme at Black Sheep Restaurants maintains its award-winning reputation.
Specific responsibilities include: contributing to line-up, troubleshooting service issues, training/hiring staff, bar inventory and sales, cocktail training, maintaining side-work checklists, event management, working with the marketing team on promotions, handling all in house events and writing the nightly-log, among others.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years’ Experience in hospitality and services, devoted mainly to wine and bar management
- 1+ years Bar management experience
- Extensive Restaurant & customer service/guest relations experience
- Ability to curate and mange Beverage menus and cellars
- Experience in liaising and negotiating with suppliers
- Experience working in renowned restaurants
- Experience working in wineries
- Excellent English language skills (written & oral)
- A keen understanding and passion for French beverage
- Experience managing and training a strong Beverage team
- Experience working in multiple cities around the world
- Must be a certified sommelier
- Must have relevant education background of wine and spirits – WSET 3
- Ideally experience working in vineyards and wineries, to understand the production process
