Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

Identifies, researches, evaluates, and pursues ENR China business development opportunities that will contribute to the businesses/JM's short, medium and long-term business goals.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

? Identifies, evaluates, negotiates, and manages business opportunities, for example sales, projects, consulting engagements, partnerships, and alliances that will contribute to the businesses/JM's medium and longer term goals.

? Undertakes commercial and technical reviews and assessments of business or acquisition opportunities.

? Supports business MDs and Sales & Marketing leaders on the delivery of sales performance, commercial excellence and financial metrics.

? Facilitates the generation and commercialisation of internal ideas for new business development opportunities.

? Undertakes extensive internal and external commercial market reviews, involving online customer and market interviews for China region.

? Undertakes marketing activities to develop cohesive plans and suggestions to relevant steering committees/senior leadership teams. ? Supports internal commercial organisation to develop and execute strategies for all business segments, key customers and new products.

? Developing a marketing/brand positioning strategy that aligns with the overall business positioning.

? Manages complex market research or analysis projects; evaluates findings, prepares reports, and make recommendations to senior management about the viability of alternative opportunities.

? Refers sales leads and customer feedback to appropriate contacts within the business and liaises with other commercial leads to ensure that these referrals are followed-up promptly.

? Prepares and presents reports and presentations including conclusions and recommendations based upon the interpretation of data. ? Leads large projects, using innovative techniques and concerning new products/markets from idea generation to commercialisation.

? Establishes long-term professional relationships with potential clients, customers, and partners (for example in government or industry associations) to promote the businesses products and services.

? Leads meetings and negotiations with potential clients and business partners to pursue business opportunities.

? Accountable for the delivery of high quality commercial proposals to clients ensuring a high ratio of bids issued to business won.

? Focuses on quarterly and yearly activities; and will be involved in the longer term planning activities.

? Collaboration transcends own functional discipline; has multiple interfaces with other disciplines/parties (e.g. Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial and R&D).

? Engages in regular reviews with the wider commercial (Sales, Marketing, BD) function of the BU to analyse competitive positioning and organic growth efforts.

? Develops external relationships e.g. with academic institutions, start-ups and fully fledged commercial entities to further and enable pursuit of identified business development initiatives.

? Initiates and conceptualises new solutions to meet future market requirements and expand the business


QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE


Degree/Higher degree with significant BD/Commercial/B2B Marketing experience; or extensive relevant experience developed in JM or externally.

May have a post-graduate business qualification e.g. MBA.

Excellent understanding of the business in which they operate in JM and the wider JM strategic goals.

Good knowledge of products to deal effectively with customers and wider stakeholders but will have access to technical experts where required.


PERSONAL SKILLS & KEY COMPETENCIES

Excellent communication skills with customers, other JM stakeholders and has the ability to motivate team(s) directly or indirectly.

Good spoken and written English.

Be enthusiastic, energetic, honest and hard work and be able to work standalone in challenging situations

Manages the relationship with a large variety of stakeholders on a strategic level and manages opposing interests.
