Job Description

Job Purpose:

To seek out new business opportunities ensuring ISG China can meet its strategic plan growth targets. Developing and maintaining strong and productive relationships with provincial governments, associations and local promoters and constantly seeking to maintain or create new sources of funding and new projects. Analysing China export sectors and matching opportunities to existing and new RX shows around the world. Being an active member of the ISG China leadership team.


Scope:

Reed Exhibitions operates over 550 exhibitions globally in 44 countries. ISG China and partners generate USD52m of international sales annually selling 189 shows globally.

Frequent travel around China and frequent international travel to various diverse destinations. Travel can exceed 50% of work time.


Key responsibilities:

? To maintain and grow the current portfolio of shows sold in China by constantly ensuring the choice and number of promoters for each show is optimal

? To be a highly visible and accessible new business development manager with the China promoter community with a sound knowledge of existing promoters and a constant pipeline of potential promoters.

? To manage the existing relationships with all those government bodies and associations responsible for funding international exhibition participation

? To constantly seek out and gain new sources of funding from untapped government bodies and associations in new territories and for new industry sectors.

? To maintain a high degree of awareness of China export opportunities and their match to all Reed Exhibition shows globally.

? To work closely with promoter/sales managers Managers ensuring they have a constant pipeline of sales opportunities for their promoters

? To maintain strong relationships with all relevant RX business units and show teams globally being fully aware of all new opportunities to sell to China exhibitors

? To contribute to the strategic planning and execution of plans for ISG China

Qualifications:

? Highly motivated target driven sales person

? Track record of developing new business

? Exceptional relationship management skills

? Proven ability to work effectively with promoters and associations

? Proven ability to work across borders and cultures

? Comfort in dealing with all levels of management and officials internally and externally

? Initiative taker with a can do attitude

? Ability to inspire colleagues to work on new opportunities

? Motivated to overcome obstacles and cope with potential frustrating situations

? Ability to travel extensively and work on the move

? Fluency in English
