Business Intelligence Developer

Job Description

SDL is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to join the Data and Analytics Team as a BI Developer.

The role of the BI Developer is to develop and support BI activates within SDL. This person works to define technical requirements and gain an understanding of the business to be effective at satisfying system requests. You will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining data analytics solutions with visibility from all levels of the organization including executives. As a part of a dynamic team you will have the opportunity to contribute to multiple phases of the solution lifecycle. This person will be responsible for administrating the BI platform and needs to be able to implement solutions and facilitate integrations where necessary.

Key responsibilities of this position include

• Create data modelling solutions and document the design of models
• Design solutions for data and data warehousing management across the lifecycle of data in collaboration with the DBA
• Develop python based application solutions and enhancements that meet user requirements.
• Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders
• Administration and management of the BI Platform

Required Skills

• Knowledge of relational and dimensional data modelling and database design skills
• SQL & Python
• Java Script, HTML & JSON
• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
• Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Must possess exceptional analytical and troubleshooting abilities
• Highly motivated individual with strong sense of ownership
• Must be proactive with solid organizational and time management skills
• Exceptional written and verbal skills
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork and excellent communications skills.
• Must have ability to document processes and procedures in a clear and logical manner including translating business requirements into technical requirements documentation
• Sisense experience advantageous  

Qualifications:

• BSC in Computer Science or equivalent
