POSITION PURPOSE

Ensure proper set-up and cleanliness of Banquet facilities and maintains proper care of Banquet equipment.  Report any discrepancies/damage to any equipment to the Banquet Captain or Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Must be familiar with all set-up requirements and able to comply with all requests as listed on the Catering orders and floor plans.

15%

  • Cleans up and properly stores all Banquet equipment after each function.

10%

  • Proper maintenance of all Banquet equipment.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

  • May be asked to wear a pager.
  • Responsible for all Banquet equipment inventory.
  • Knows, understands and enforces objectives, policies, standards and procedures set forth by the Catering Manager.

OTHER

  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards which have been established by the hotel from time to time is essential to the successful performance of this position.  Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action procedures up to and including termination of employments.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  • Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with the hotel rules and regulations for the safe efficient operation of the hotel facilities.  Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations are subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

 

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY

  • Ability to read floor plans.
  • Ability to interpret Catering function orders.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment (50lbs).

 

QUALIFICATIONS & STANDARDS

EXPERIENCE

  • Some Banquet Porter experience

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

  • Liquor Commission Card

GROOMING

  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
