Bartender Needed at the Cellar Door
Cellar DoorBeijingUpdate time: March 11,2017
Job Description
Hello!

Once again the Cellar Door has a vacancy for someone looking for a very nice part-time job indeed, with one or two shifts a week available on Monday and Tuesday nights. For those who don't know the place, it's a little bar in a Gulou hutong known for its range of beers, its lovingly compiled music playlists and its friendly, interesting crowd of regular drinkers. If you'd like to work in a bar for the fun of it and for a welcome chunk of cash then you probably won't find better than this anywhere in Beijing, for the following reasons:

-- As the sole bartender working on any given night you'd be responsible for running the place on your own, thus gaining useful experience and avoiding the usual infantilsing nano-management
-- You'd be paid a percentage of the night's takings, with a minimum in place in case of slow business; the result is a wage significantly higher than the average for work of this type in Beijing
-- The overall experience of working here is a pleasant one, with a relaxed pace and nice customers

Bar experience is useful but not necessary here - most of the bartending consists of opening a beer and taking the money. We're looking for someone who's responsible enough to run the place properly and friendly enough to make the customers want to come back. You'll need to speak fluent English as most of the customers are waiguoren, and the more Chinese you have the better. If you've got good music to play and friends to bring when you're working then that would be great.

To show interest or inquire, please contact the Chinese laoban Rain

Cheers!
