Bellperson/Courtesy Car Driver

Summary of Responsibilities:

 

Reporting to the Director of Front Office, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
  • Ensure an exceptional guest experience by providing professional, engaging and proactive service while safely transporting guests to and from the Hotel
  • Acknowledges guests and visitors and greets incoming and outgoing guests by name.
  • Escort guests to their room and upon arrival conduct an overview of the room to ensure that guests are familiar with their surroundings
  • Transports luggage to guest room, hangs garment bag and places luggage on luggage stand or in appropriate area as directed by guest.
  • Tags and marks luggage for business, leisure, and tour guests. Records and stores luggage and deliveries efficiently and accurately.
  • Responds quickly to guest complaints or requests for information, reservations and confirmations in an accurate and pleasant manner, and ensures appropriate action is taken.
  • Assists with the security of the hotel through participation in the Emergency response team in the event of a fire alarm or other crisis.
  • Ensures that only registered guests and patrons use the Reception Lobby.
  • Answers internal and external telephone calls with the highest level of professionalism and service.
  • Perform pick up & drop duties in a BMW courtesy car.
  • Ensure car interior is clean and prepared to receive guests, and reports any maintenance required to the Manager. Check the fuel level and report accordingly.
  • Keep records of courtesy pickups/drops.
  • Must be able to drive Hotel Jitney to the Beach Club (and back) if required as per business operations.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with all corporate, hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Strict adherence to all Health & Safety training, guidelines and work practices previous, during and following an epidemic (whether local or global) that are established by Accor, local government, international bodies including the World Health Organization (WHO) and Center for disease control (CDC)
  • Perform any other duties, tasks, and assignments within your department as required

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of recent experience (in the last 5 years) as a Porter or Doorperson, or in a position demanding a quality standard of constant guest/customer service.
  • A valid Bermuda License (Car/Truck) and limo license with no history of any traffic offence.
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of surrounding area, local attractions, events, restaurants and transportation information
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag while working.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently with minimal supervision and as a team-player with proven success in relationship building.
  • Ability to provide excellent service and exceed guest expectations
  • Proven ability to solve problems and make decisions in a personable manner
  • Proficient in English language, both verbal and written
  • Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an busy, dynamic environment while remaining calm
  • Must be comfortable wearing a Bluetooth earpiece
  • Proven ability to work cohesively as part of a team in a multicultural, diverse environment
  • Strong work ethic, highly responsible, reliable and the ability to work extended hours including evenings, public holidays and weekends is required

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • The position is physically demanding and has a direct impact on the security of our employees and guests. The successful applicant must be physically capable of performing repetitive work, as well as lifting and carrying heavy loads (average 50lbs). The successful applicant must be comfortable working the majority of the time outdoors in all elements.
