Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Bioanalytical Pharmacokinetic (BAPK) Intern, are to: 

 

  • Shadow Bioanalytical Pharmacokinetic (BAPK) (and other) group scientists;
  • Maintain laboratory safety practices and upkeep of instrumentation;
  • Learn & execute record keeping practices for reagents, samples, data files, and electronic lab notebooks;
  • Learn, then plan a bioanalytical approach/immunoassay protocol for addressing a specific pharmacokinetic study;
  • Execute said immunoassay protocol(s) at the bench;
  • Analyze the experimental results via instrument software and Excel files;
  • Summarize and write up results for electronic lab notebook documentation;
  • Present results in Powerpoint slide format;
  • Learn Outcomes Expected of the Intern, Mastery of basic immunoassay techniques and strategies, Data analysis and interpretation of results, Ability to present and defend results in a group setting.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a focus in Biology, Biochemistry or Immunology;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to deal professionally with internal customers of various organizational levels;
  • Ability to work effectively within a departmental team and with members of the same or higher organizational levels;
  • Good organization, documentation, prioritization and scheduling skills together with an overall desire to learn;
  • Basic problem solving and project management abilities together with a professional image;
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task;
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office with beginner level proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Demonstrate potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, and collaboration with others and independent thought.
