This Biochemist 2 position supports Manufacturing personnel via technical expertise and guidance, as they build/test diagnostic reagents and materials that will be used by clinical labs on Atellica, Centaur, and Centaur CP automation platforms. Position reports to Sr Supervisor of Technical Operations within the Manufacturing sector. This person would be an experienced scientist, able to design and lead technical investigations for immunoassays. Support would involve urgent manufacturing support as well as short term and long term product and process improvements. This is a role well suited to a Biochemist 2, you will be responsible for: ● You will participate in and investigate technical issues associated with formulation and testing of immunoassay reagents and testing components. ● You will write compliance documentation associated with investigations, data analyses, and experimental conclusions. ● You will work in the laboratory running Atellica, Centaur, and CP instrumentation with serum and other biological fluids of human and animal origin. ● You will coordinate and carry out investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). ● You will create and participate in the design of experiments (DOE) to troubleshoot manufacturing issues. ● You will coordinate and perform material and process changes following written protocols. ● You may lead a team or directly investigate the performance of new and re-formulated assays and manufacturing processes. This position includes the handling of all types of materials, including hazardous and DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) controlled materials. Required Education, Skills & Experience: ● BS in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or other related science degree ● 3+ years job related experience (may include time in an advanced degree) ● Good understanding and knowledge of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies, and the principles of immunodiagnostic technology. ● Experience with running/designing/troubleshooting immunoassays. ● Experience with automated immunoassay analyzers and/or ELISA and chemiluminescent technology ● Demonstrated ability to interpret data, and to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. ● Strong work ethic, excellent written and communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. ● Led change or development projects to completion. ● Must be flexible and demonstrate the ability to quickly change priorities to meet business needs. ● Proficiency with Microsoft Office ● Must pass a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) background check. Preferred Education, Skills & Experience: ● Advanced degree preferred: Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or other related science degrees ● Immunology, Protein chemistry and chromatography knowledge Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
