SUIS Xiamen is a member of the largest educational not-for-profit organization (Xiehe) in Shanghai. SUIS Xiamen opened in August 2017 and now has more than 800 students and 144 teaching and administrative staff (international and local). Located in the beautiful, sub-tropical and exotic city of Xiamen, our campus is extensive, boasting state-of-the-art facilities. The school is already an accredited Cambridge Examinations Centre. We seek qualified and experienced teachers to join us in maintaining our excellent reputation for international education here in China.

We promote international and bilingual education, personalized learning and the holistic development of each student. Our curriculum in the Primary and Middle Schools is our own variation of the SUIS ‘East meets West’ Pioneer Curriculum leading to an international programme in the High School where A Levels are studied. The Pioneer Curriculum integrates the compulsory local curriculum with English language and a Western thematic approach. Our aim is to enable the placement of SUIS Xiamen students in leading universities around the world. In order to provide the best ‘East meets West’ education to children and enable them to be effective global citizens, we encourage collaboration and co-teaching where appropriate among teachers.

Our school community is renowned for its creative and nurturing approach. Both Primary and Secondary school productions were written and performed by our students and the musical score composed by our teachers. This is a cultural tradition we are proud of and aim to continue.

SUIS Xiamen boasts fine campus facilities with an Olympic sized swimming pool, spacious gymnasium, outdoor athletics track and artificial playing surface, extensive music and art zones, auditorium and lecture theatres. These amenities are used to full effect to ensure every student receives a highly effective holistic education.

General requirements of applicants:

1. Qualified teachers, fluent English speaking with excellent verbal and writing skills;

2. Holding a degree from a recognized institution (no lower than Bachelor) and a recognized teaching qualification;

3. With preferably a minimum of two years of relevant teaching experience;

4. NCfE / IGCSE / A Level experience where appropriate would be desirable but not essential.
