Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Biotech IP informatics Scientist, are to: 

 

  • Design, implement and enhance bioinformatic algorithms, bio sequence databases, compute platform for automated workflows to support IP FTO;
  • Support and enhance IP FTO review system (vIPR); Provide support to IP science users; Work with R&D IT on issue resolution, performance optimization and function enhancements;
  • Conduct IP FTO reviews; Support for workflow use, and for in-depth FTO reviews;
  • Develop and maintain IT system for internal patent sequence data;
  • (MonPat); manage and update the data contents;
  • Lead technical liaison and coordination of GenomeQuest system;
  • Optimize system performance and support users on technical issues;
  • Maintain GenomeCast data download and custom data upload;
  • Assist in patent preparation and prosecution, for data analysis, summary and filing package preparation.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • M.S. in data science, computational biology or bioinformatics plus minimum two years industry work experience in IP data informatics;
  • Excellent knowledge and work experience in biological sequence and large scale data analytics;
  • Working knowledge and experience in patent and IP FTO analytical process, databases and tools;
  • Strong work ethics, willingness to serve and to lead, and commitment to deliver quality results on time;
  • Critical thinker and continuous learner.
