Job Description

This is a co-op position which requires three alternating rotations (e. g. 1st rotation: spring, 2nd rotation: fall, 3rd rotation: summer).

The Material Flow and Lineside Planning co-op is responsible for supporting innovation projects in body shop logistics. Main focus of the position will be on the implementation of autonomous guided vehicles (AGV’s) within our Logistics Processes. The implementation will be aligned with the overall Body Shop Innovations Strategy, and this position will be responsible for supporting and steering these tasks/projects to completion. 

The qualified co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:

  • Training and production support of AGV’s control, navigation and reporting system (ATS).
  • Performance tracking of AGV’s within production (development of KPI’s).
  • Supporting the implementation of Smart Transport Robots (STR’s).
  • Supporting the implementation of Autonomous Forklifts.
  • Organizing, facilitating, and documenting meetings as required.
  • Implement changes (as required) within in the autonomous systems.
  • Research further innovations in the field of logistics.
  • Smart Transport Robot (STR) 
  • Training of STR’s upper level system (ATS). 
  • Production support of STR’s fault resolution and performance optimization.
  • Development & monitoring of KPI’s for STR performance within production.
  • Support deployment of in all body shop areas.
  • Autonomous Forklift.

  • Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Strong background in Excel, Access is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Self-Starter.
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
  • Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to complete 3 alternating work terms for Co-op positions. 
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. 
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term. 
  • THE WORK TERM DATES ARE (January 3rd - May 6th).
