Botanist Head Sommelier (Trainer) - Full Time

• What you will be doing:
  • Lead Botanist team as acting floor supervisor when MOD is absent form service
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues
  • Assist guests regarding all wine items in an informative and helpful way
  • Assist in the maintenance of wine inventory costing documents
  • Responsible for organization and storage of weekly product deliveries
  • Contribute product recommendations that complement the development of the wine program
  • Assist outlets and catering team with wine selections for events, promotions or selected functions
  • Assist Director of Wine with Birchstreet product requisitions and the reporting of product transfers between departments and storage areas
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Other duties as assigned
• Your experience and skills include:
  • • Previous Mixology experience including cocktail creation required
    • Must have BC Serving It Right Certificate
    • Must have previous high-volume luxury food & beverage bartending experience. A 4-5 Diamond AAA/CAA or Forbes 5 Star hotel would be an asset.
    • A Degree or Diploma in Hotel/Hospitality or Tourism is an asset
    •  
    • Excellent knowledge of all beverage products
    • Previous Point of Sale system experience an asset
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
    • Highly responsible and reliable
    • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
    • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
    • Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team

Physical Aspects of Position (including but not limited to)

• • • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
    • Constant lifting and carrying up to 20-50 lbs
    • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
    • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
