Job Description

The Core Micro-Architecture Team, which develops Intel’s Performance Cores, is looking for an outstanding researcher to invent and develop Branch Prediction algorithms for Intel's next generation Processor Core.

The job includes:

  • Analyzing the performance bottlenecks of the current state-of-the-art branch prediction algorithms.
  • Developing new branch prediction algorithms for improved accuracy.
  • Coding (C++) and evaluating the new algorithms using a cycle-accurate simulator that models the branch predictor and the processor core.
  • Tuning and improving the algorithms for best performance and power, while meeting timing, area, and complexity restrictions.
  • Writing specification documents, and working closely with the design team during the implementation phase of the next generation Core.


Qualifications

Outdating Electrical Engineering/ Computer Science/ Mathematics MSc or PhD.

Analytical and creative thinking.

Coding (C++) is an advantage.

Processor core micro-architecture and/or logic design experience is an advantage.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
