Brand Manager

Typical Accountabilities:

Communication & Promotion

  • Develop all campaign material and all the briefing documents to ensure maximum impact
  • Leverage guidelines from global brand team and brief campaign task force accordingly to ensure respect of international guidelines
  • Manage actively agencies to ensure optimal use of available financial resources
  • Briefing and selection of agency
  • Review performance of agency and costs
  • Actively contribute in collaboration with the medical team or National Sales team/MM to ensure alignment with strategy the following activities as required: Advisory boards, round tables or other expert meetings, National symposia/ WebEx/ Webcast/ Virtual summit, Launch meetings etc
  • Be actively involved in the organisation of regional and national sales meetings/business reviews as required
  • Ensure full compliance of material / activities with ethical and Code of Ethics (demonstrate and ensure active respect for values, business ethics, local laws, policies and marketing procedures)
  • Propose Budget spend on the defined territory & is responsible for accurate budget management
  • Prepare cost estimates for current activities, advertising / informing about AstraZeneca brand products and investment budgets.

Operational Brand Management & Customer Excellence

  • Actively builds the brand strategy by providing customer insights acquired during interactions with external and internal customers
  • Participate in the development of the Business Action Plan in close collaboration with the Marketing Manager
  • Ensure full implementation of the operational Business Action Plan in close collaboration with the key functional team members
  • Keep the Business Action Plan updated, implement the plan to ensure that Brand objectives are realised
  • Lead the operational roll-out of the pre-agreed strategic and operational plan (campaign task force, monthly implementation meeting)
  • Identify potential new market insight and collaborate with Market Intelligence to leverage all important market data to refine action plans or to prioritize activities.
  • Develop and understand market research principles/sources/tools/methodology
  • Work with local data to contribute to forecasting models.

Stakeholders management

  • Build relationships with key internal / external clients.
  • Leads Brand Team, developing and implementing plans for KEE development & marketing strategy implementation.
  • Cooperates with sales force, strengthening their capacity to implement business strategy. Though: client field visits with MSRs at regular intervals to gain insight on current and future marketing initiatives and ensure correct product information is delivered, providing training to MSRs on the promotional materials and product strategy, addresses MSRs concerns or questions in regards to brand strategy and promotional materials)
  • Report on the status of implementation of the tactical plan to internal customers.
  • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Gain insight into market & campaign effectiveness, key stake holder input by ensuring proper time allocation for customer facing interactions (usually through > 2 full days with customers including min. 20 field visits per Quarter)

  • Maintains highest ethical standards and work in a spirit of AstraZeneca Code of Ethics, following rules & norms set by corporate policies
  • Ensures that all conducted activities are done in accordance with local legislation and corporate standards.

Timely reports (as per respective procedures): health/environment/wellbeing related accidents; adverse events that you became aware about; change in status of your Conflict of Interest.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • 2-3 years Brand management experience in Vaccines/Speciality business in Gulf or Saudi, preferably GCC experience in multinational pharmaceutical company
  • Ability to develop and implement annual brand plans and various projects
  • Cross-functional cooperation
  • Excellent Interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze data to formulate business plans
  • Strong organizational skills with a quality focus on;

  • Leadership & autonomy to initiate & execute responsibility under minimum guidance
  • Proven competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable:

  • Sound Business knowledge of Pharmaceutical industry & experience/knowledge of Vaccines/Speciality
  • Patient centricity - being passionate about really understanding patients, their attitudes to health, and who they interact with/are influenced by along the patient journey – to ensure patient needs are at the heart of decision-making.
  • Translate information into actionable insight - rigorously analysing and synthesising multiple sources of information to uncover powerful new insights that can be applied to create business advantage, both now and in the future
  • Building different portfolios - understanding the role of a comprehensive brand portfolio comprising differentiated and distinctive brands. Making clear choices to optimise the life cycle of brands across the AZ portfolio and to effectively service trends in the therapy area
  • Define winning brand strategies - choosing the most promising brand opportunities and associated priority target audiences. Developing ambitious strategies to overcome barriers to success and truly build the brand.
  • Generate game-changing ideas - unleashing and nurturing creativity to translate strategies into bold ideas that will connect with target audiences to change attitudes and deliver behaviour change
  • Design compelling experiences - creating holistic, motivating campaign experiences for multiple audiences across key touch points, to drive positive change in attitudes and behaviour.
  • Execute with brilliance - delivering compelling experiences that help us create stronger connections with target audiences, rigorously reviewing performance and seizing opportunities to optimise in real-time, and to achieve greater effectiveness and efficiency
  • Engage with Broader organization - understanding broad business operations and optimising relationships with cross-functional teams to inspire and mobilise them behind the experience plan. Applying sound commercial acumen to deliver patient benefit and optimal financial return.
