Job Description

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We need a Brand Marketing Specialist to help lead the consumer planning for the Running Addict mindset. The larger marketing organization in Tokyo will rely on this specialist to understand consumer insights and give direction on how to win over the runners in Tokyo - a strategic key city for running. This role is also critical for success of Nike Tokyo’s 365 membership marketing strategy. This person should be an always curious person who is also a critical thinker, analytical and can communicate insight and ideas well.


WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

You will be working on both on long-term and short-term consumer centric planning and executions. In the long-term you will support your manager and director with creating a membership marketing strategy for the key affinity of Running. In the short-term you will lead the work around obtaining first-hand, in-depth understanding of Tokyo runners and crafting content and experiences for this key consumer affinity. You will also manage digital execution run of show, brief and help those tactics come to life on/off Nike ecosystem. Being part of this team also requires a lot of communication with the broader marketing team as well as other business critical teams like city merchandising, e-commerce, legal and more. Communication style is flexible as long as it is consistent and clear.


1. Crafting consumer centric marketing plans with a focus on Running addicts across all dimensions of Men, Women and Kids.

2. Assisting the integrated marketing team that focuses on Running Addicts.

3. Research and reporting on Running consumers insights.

4. Managing aspects of the marketing run of show with a bigger focus on digital marketing channels.

5. Project based briefing and creating digital content, Nike Apps activations or retail branding in partnership with inhouse creative teams & external vendors.

6. Provide operations excellence by project management and team-to-team communication acceleration representing the larger Brand Management team.


WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

You will be a team of 2 with the Running addict manager for Tokyo Consumer Brand Management team. Your team will represent one portion of all the consumer constructs the larger Consumer Brand Management team manages. Outside of your immediate team you will also be required to work closely with our Consumer Direct Marketing Teams, eCommerce teams and other functions including sports marketing, communications, and demand supply management teams.

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE

- Bachelors degree, preferably in the field of business & marketing

- 3+ years of working experience in the following functions or industry: Marketing, digital platforms, editorial, publishing, sports, fashion, consumer brands, magazines, streaming platforms, subscription services

- Japanese: Business Level, English: Business level minimum

- Strong experience in performance/digital/funnel marketing

- The ability to see the big picture and be comfortable with ambiguity

- Interpersonal skills; thrives in highly collaborative projects, effective at building consensus, balances high stakes decisions with ease, and ability to navigate ambiguity

- A passion for sport, preferably in running, but not limited to. This person should understand the power of sport and have a desire to make Sport more accessible for everyone.
