Bentley Systems is seeking a Bridge Consultant to become a valued member of our AssetWise Management Team. This role provides our users the highest level of attention to detail to deliver a quality implementation for our solutions that manage bridge data processing, rating, and rating support for all SUPERLOAD Bridge implementations.

 

Location: Sunrise, FL

 

Responsibilities

• Provide technical consultative support and demonstrations to users, answer complex questions on the use of software to analyze and load rate various bridge types.
• Teach engineers and designers how to best use the available software tools to accomplish their project goals.
• Produce training documents and multimedia materials used to educate users in the use of the software.
• Act as an expert consultant to engineering companies and government organizations in order to implement the software in their organization or project.
• Provide pre and post-sales training, deployment and integration, configuration, and support of software applications
• Perform benefit-oriented technical presentations of Bentley’s software and solutions.
• Articulate technology and software positioning to both business and technical users.
• Prepare feature-specific demonstrations of software and solutions for individual prospects or marketing events.
• Promote and maintain a high quality, professional, service-oriented company image among users.
• Work with sales team members and product management and development in benchmarking to demonstrate a good fit and improved time/performance with the software.
• Work with product development and management groups to refine product development plans based on user input.
• Assist business development and sales personnel in technical proposals development
• Assist in the design and development of new products and tools necessary to grow the user market
• Develop standard demonstration sets and content for selected software
• Recommend best practices to meet user business needs. Configure or customize existing software or create an entirely new process
• Write scopes of work and estimated resource requirements for tasks or projects assigned
• Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application

 

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required with a minimum 3 years of practical experience, or MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with a minimum 2 years of practical experience, or a similar combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated knowledge in the principles of design and load rating codes, standards and guidelines, including the AASHTO LRFD Design specification, AASHTO Standard Specification 17 Edition (LFD/ASD) and the AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation 2nd Edition
• Proven experience using bridge analysis and load rating software such as: AASHTO BrR/BrD, LARS, LEAP Bridge Concrete, LEAP Bridge Steel

• Comprehensive understanding of bridge analysis and load rating, with a strong emphasis on load rating and engineering knowledge of multiple design codes/standards and criteria
• Ability to engage and interact with all levels of engineers and owner-operators
• Capable of dealing with and resolving complex support issues with users in real-time
• Aptitude to analyze information, develop recommendations and present proposed solutions
• Must be a creative problem solver with interest in emerging bridge load rating technologies
• Possess excellent interpersonal and strong presentation and communication skills, with ability to convey technical subject matters
• Service-oriented with ability to build effective working relationships with various teams throughout the organization

• Professional Engineering (PE) registration is a plus
• Programming skills in either C, C++, C#, and / or FORTRAN is desired
