A reputable investment bank player is seeking to take on a mid level lawyer with strong experience in supporting Brokerage and/or Wealth Management businesses.

Our client is a reputable investment bank with a strong presence in Asia, as well as with global operations. The Legal Team in HK has over 10 lawyers in place. One of the company's leading businesses includes their Brokerage / Wealth Management Team, and they are currently looking to strengthen their legal presence within this space.

Description

Responsibilities

• Advise business on all aspects of the client relationship, from pitches through to the structuring of accounts and account opening procedures, negotiation of account documentation and investment restrictions, support on transaction-specific questions, the margin and risk management process and new products;
• Prepare, review and negotiate legal trading documents;
• Advise, review and negotiate on ISDA and GMRA documentation;
• Advise business on all aspects of product development, documentation and trading, including fixed income securities, FX, mutual and alternative funds, structured products and derivatives;
• Advise business on variety of issues, including new business initiatives, impact of regulation, material account-related issues, litigation and issues relating to the structure of business;
• Advise business on compliance issues, such as interpretation of regulations and account activity;
• Advise business on policy development, such as introducing new policies in response to new legislation and revising current policies to meet the needs of the business; and
• Liaising with outside counsel on a broad range of domestic and cross border jurisdictional issues, including licensing and selling restrictions, and enforceability of collateral arrangements.

Profile

The successful candidate will possess at least 4-8 years' PQE, being a banking lawyer by background. Any exposure in supporting Brokerage and/or Wealth Management businesses gained by way of working in house or secondments is ideal. You will be a team player and be able to work in a fast paced work environment, with good commercial skills in working with the business. Fluency in English and Chinese required.
