They will help define the contracts that will successfully align BB/LOD/TI into one cohesive and effective program.
Role of BIM Director:
2D hand detailing is being replaced with 3D modeling programs and digital tools. The expected outcome of 3D modeling are highly accurate and coordinated spool drawings ready for fabrication. This will lead to a higher volume of offsite manufacturing (OSM) and higher trade productivity in the field. To meet these requirements, many factors will come into play. These include quantification, schedule, 3D model input accuracy, change control, contracts and overall project management. The BIM Director will lead and support these efforts to ensure the contracts, project execution plans, contractor collaboration and Virtual Design coordination are being met.
As a Building Information Modeling (BIM) Director your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Develop and execution of BIM strategy.
Manage/Direct the BIM Coordination Processes.
Create and deployment of BIM strategies.
Develop/Review project execution plan (PEP for 3D management execution).
Help build the BIM contracting strategy.
Create, implement and maintain BIM standards, BIM workflow Documentation, and IP standards.
Oversee activities or methods of BIM support team (augmented resources, Integrator, CM) to ensure BIM standards are maintained in the creation of BIM models.
Drives/Supports/sets the expectations for BIM support team.
Oversees methods used to ensure the federated model is updated and distributed.
Effectively work with space planning for 3D modeler seating logistics.
Work with key stakeholders.

Ensures Design Models are clash adjudicated per approved adjudications.
Help train project team to leverage BIM Models to understand and manage their scope effectively
Develops deployment plan for Intel 3D Deliverables to TI Trade Contractor. Enable high volume OSM.
Assist in obtaining building Survey Control for 3D modeling and laser scanning
Manages local 3D tool block library, if required.
Ensures stakeholders have access to the Interface Plate library and VF resources, as necessary.
Enforces collaboration processes with all stakeholders
Schedule - Understand schedule implications and highlight risks and opportunities for the program.
Support constraint management modeling efforts
Integration and Indicators
Drive One BIM integration BB/LOD/TI program
Enforce the BB, LOD and TI trade partners are collaborating and coordinating all construction modeling and routings to ensure an on-going clash-free BIM federated model; minimize if not eliminate all field reworks and error-free utilities installations.
Develop and oversee process to ensure field installation matches the Federated Model.
Work with trade modelers to ensure routing adheres to specific routing zones.
Monitor, track and help guide trade improvements.
Define roadmap for improving cost and productivity
Define key indicators and create indicator package.
