Job Description

The Building Project Specialist:

  • Plans, designs, and oversees construction of buildings, infrastructure and utilities in the Americas Region to support production requirements.
  • Acts as project lead for Real Estate Provision Process related projects for construction which involves leading multicultural project management teams to erect building structures and infrastructure according to design premises, defined costs, and schedule dates to ensure quality and SOP requirements.
  • Steers national and international capital projects from design to handover of building structures and infrastructure according to the requirements of the technologies (Body/Paint/Assembly) or projects in the Americas Region and to project relevant KPIs (Budget/Schedule/ Quality).
  • Makes independent decisions and project recommendations to higher level management.
  • Structures the project environment, works on efficient and sustainable solutions for the project organization and makes proposals on external design firms, construction management (CM) firms and construction contractors.
  • Works with procurement, initiates escalation when necessary and represents the project within the Building Projects Organization to both internal and external interface partners and all relevant committees in order to achieve targets.
  • Accounts for project costs, cash flows, schedules, and quality of construction projects while ensuring achievement of project SOP.
  • Formulates decision preparation, implementation, and procurement coordination to specified contractors (planner, CM, contractor).
  • Designs and implements construction and infrastructure projects Implements selection and contract completion for local planners and CM firms.
  • Leads and controls project related construction management team (external).
  • Manages construction quality, safety, and site organization and cleanliness.
  • Acts as a facilitator and responsible contact person between client and external contractor.
  • Implements corporate and sustainability strategy into the projects.
  • Develops building structures minimizing capital expenditures.
  • Manages and coordinates implementation of Corporate Identity furniture and artwork standards in the planning and delivery of building projects.
  • Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work.
  • Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or industrial engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in capital building construction projects.
  • 5+ years experience in construction project management, budget planning, scheduling and quality management.
  • 5+ years experience in project management execution.
  • 5+ years ability in managing self and being proactive.
  • 5+ years presentation and communication skills.
  • 5+ years coordinating abilities, decision making responsibilities, and team orientation.
  • 5+ years ability to analyze, assess and mitigate construction risks and related technical and operational consequences.
  • 5+ years demonstrated willingness and ability to develop innovative means and methods to achieve department objectives.
  • 5+ years knowledge of MS-office.
  • 5+ years ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Spanish and German language skills (preferred).
