Objective of the Position

Computation and Instrumentation Technologies (CIT) Department is leading R&D activities related to Modeling, Digital and Building Science for Saint Gobain Group in China.

CIT Department is looking for a building science engineer to enlarge competency of the team in order to support the habitat strategy of Saint Gobain in Asia.

In this role, you will participate and lead R&D Projects which aims at implementing Saint Gobain’s solutions for a better comfort in various habitat situation.

For this, you are able to perform diagnosis and simulation in terms of Energy efficiency, indoor air quality as well as different comfort criteria (Thermal, visual, acoustic).

Candidate should have knowledge of instrumentation technologies (sensors and data analysis) applied to building monitoring. You have relevant experience with simulation tools such as Transys, Energy+, Window and WUFI and are capable of establishing simple analytics model or more complex ones by collaborating with modeling experts of the department.

Position involves few business travels in China or in Europe.

Principal Accountabilities ( % of time, What, How and Why)

1/( 5%) Strictly follow company EHS & 5S policies and regulations. Follow R&D personnel's individual EHS responsibilities listed in 'EHS Responsibilities Management Program'.

2/ (55%) Actively contribute to local and transversal R&D program related to Building Science. You participate to some monitoring campaigns and perform the analysis of the data. You take over responsibilities of the simulation competency related to building physics.

3/ (35%) Work closely with marketing (local and central) to promote for Asian market the Multicomfort concept developed by Saint Gobain and effectively implement it to real projects either with partners or Universities.

4/ (5%) other task assigned by supervisor.

Qualification & Skills

1/ Position is opened to Master degree (Building Science, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) with 2 years of experience or Phd related to Building Science. Oversea degrees are preferred.

2/ You ideally acquired good scientific background in physics and thermic during your education. Knowledge of material science is a plus

3/ You possess a general knowledge of building construction sector with a focus on interior design. You are familiar with building labels and regulations (Chinese Green Label, LEED, Passivehouse), experience with design institutes is a plus.

4/ You must have very good communication skills Chinese and English in order to interact with various actors (R&D teams in Shanghai and others R&D center in Europe, marketing, Universities) and willing to apply building physics to develop business.

6/ Open minded, pedagogy, and project leadership are appreciated skills for this position

7/ You are skilled at building simulation softwares such as TRNSYS, Energy+, PKPM, or special softwares for acoustic and daylighting.
