SUMMARY:

The Business Analyst/ Developer will be responsible in analyzing business requirements, procedures, and problems to help develop/ automate processes/ improve existing systems.

She/He to provide technical knowledge, system design techniques, methodologies, tools, and standards utilized in the IT and business environment.

As a key member of the SAP team, provide support to the business community for SAP in the ABAP Technical Development area. This includes all new projects and enhancements as well as production support across all functional areas within SAP

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Enhance and Support SAP ECC and related software.
• Apply wide-ranging experience in both ABAP technical and functional areas.
• Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
• Lead large projects and initiatives or engage with other project personnel to ensure business application systems are developed in a way that complies with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices
• Provide programming expertise, usually as a member of a project team, in the analysis, design, and development of SAP reports, interfaces, business forms, conversions, and user exits
• Write new and modify existing data sources, info sets and queries
• Develop and support interfaces to numerous legacy and third-party systems using a variety of techniques such as LSMW, BAPI, IDOC, RFC calls, BDC, and call transaction update methods
• Perform program performance optimization and tuning where necessary
• Research and apply OSS notes and utilize advance debug techniques
• Write detailed technical documentation of program functions and Provide and support user training where appropriate
• Actively participate in Major Incident Management (MIM) calls, Root cause analysis and Post-Mortem Reviews
• Work with Enterprise Shared Services and programmers to assure compliance to program specifications
• Liaise with Divisional Management to understand direction within their functional area of responsibility
• Support business initiatives utilizing Project Management expertise.
• Maintain security in compliance with ThermoFisher Security directives.
• Ensure compliance to Thermo Fisher IT Policies and Guidelines.

• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
• Develop Technical specifications as per standard templates.
• Liaise between the business, technology teams and support teams.
• Comply with company’s Global IT Policies & Procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Excellent knowledge of business processes and best practices.
• Strong Knowledge of SAP ABAP.
• Knowledge of Thermo Fisher SAP Template a plus.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of SAP ABAP development experience and 2 full cycle implementations

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Certification on SAP ABAP development is beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal and excellent documentation skills are a must.
• Able to assume and complete assignments independently.
• Ability to explain and champion technical concepts to a broad audience.
• Strong project management skills and understanding of project management lifecycle.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
• Experience in S/4 HANA is a plus.
• Follow the IT Software Development Life Cycle process and ASAP methodology
• Ability to learn new tools given opportunity.
