ABOUT THE ROLE?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst in our R&D IT function with a focus on early drug discovery. If you have a passion to support scientific innovation through an in-depth understanding of the processes and technology needs of research scientists, then read on.

The successful applicant will provide an essential link between our scientists and the IT experts that provide the systems and data services that enable their work. As such, you must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Your analysis skills must be well practiced and able dig below the surface to discern where true business benefit resides. In your elucidation of business requirements you should incorporate ‘big-picture’ thinking and consider multiple approaches, providing the relative merits and costs that different options offer. You should also be prepared to influence where you see opportunities for improved practices.

Having a scientific background, or experience working in as a business analysts in a life science company, is considered essential for this role. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can converse with scientists with credibility and demonstrate insight related to their scientific problems. The translation of this information to the rest of the IT team through clear documentation and easy to understand diagrams is very important.

The Business Analyst role is a key part of our IT capability and we have a growing Business Analyst practice where you can continue to develop your skills, as well as share your experience with others.
