Job Description

Job Purpose
As a proven business continuity professional, you will have practical experience of delivering all elements of a Business Continuity Program.  This will include building and developing plans and providing business impact analysis, incident/crisis management, exercising and testing of scenarios as well as developing and implementing training and awareness programs.  Ideally the candidate should have a working knowledge of major IT platforms and infrastructure and good understanding of IT Disaster Recovery/IT Service Continuity.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership for all aspects of Business Continuity Management across the company and embedding it within the company culture
* Determine and communicate strategy for our BC/DR management standards
* Coordinate, assess, develop, and communicate contingency requirements and recovery plans required to protect the company in the event that facilities or technology resources are unavailable due to an unforeseen disruption. A strong business continuity background is a pre requisite
* Train, mentor and assist departments in building out Business Continuity plans for their areas.  Ensure critical functions, support components (buildings, equipment, people, technology) are identified and plans remain current and effective
* Ensure appropriate periodic testing of BC/DR is carried out and results are documented, with remediation items identified and tracked where necessary
* Answer questions from our customers about our BCP policies and procedures
* Analyse industry standards and implement best practices on an ongoing basis.
* International travel will be required periodically


Skills & Experience
* Experience in the field of Business Continuity Planning and appropriate certification from DRII (Disaster Recovery Institute International) or BCI (Business Continuity Institute).
* Experience in a corporate or regulatory environment along with the oversight of third-party supplier chains 
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
* Proficiency with business continuity planning software tools
* Strong organization and time management skills
* Ability to make effective presentations at multiple levels of management
* Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
* Demonstrable problem-solving skills with the ability to facilitate problem solving discussions. 
* Be comfortable acting as an adviser and presenting to senior stakeholders.
