Job Description
Siemens Smart Infrastructure is looking to hire a seasoned Business Developer, based in France, reporting to the Global Head of Business Development Emerging Platforms in HQ, Germany. The focus will be on identifying, structuring, developing, and negotiating major electromobility infrastructure (Depot Charging) projects– including financing and “as a service” schemes for the following sets of customers: ● Commercial Truck transportation and fleets; ● Commercial Bus transportation and municipal, education, and government fleets; ● Next generation autonomous vehicle fleets; and ● Next generation power sources, including but not limited to hydrogen. The deals to be developed will comprise of all relevant customer hardware, software and service offerings to achieve a Depot Charging as-a-Service end-to-end solution, managed under one software platform, including the ability to provide plug-ins for 3rd party partners. The solution will often require partnering and packaging financial vehicles (Special Purpose Vehicles, or SPV’s, akin to a bond fund) to provide bundles that create value, reduce expenses, and increased efficiency for the transition and operations of commercial electric fleets. IDEAL PROFILE: ● A track record within at least one of the following markets: Transportation and Delivery networks for commercial trucking and bus services; Automotive / Transportation OEMs, including companies delivering trucks, buses, and LCV’s; Energy, including renewable, markets, and storage; Commercial financing of transportation and infrastructure; Electromobility charging infrastructure. ● Knowledge, passion, and fundamental understanding of renewable energy generation, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and the enterprise software platforms managing these. ● Ability to develop new business models with accounts and partners. ● Ability to develop IOT, SaaS, and Cloud-based sales strategies. ● Familiarity with the sourcing and financing of renewable energy infrastructure, retail and wholesale energy markets. ● A passion around electromobility, with the lifestyle and cultural changes it will inherently create. ● Effective bid and project management skills to enable the offering and delivery of comprehensive charging infrastructure projects, supporting both Siemens solutions and 3rd party products. ● Strong relationship builder, able to navigate complex selling environments with potentially long sales cycles. ● Ability to manage existing accounts as well as build and close new relationships with strategic accounts. ● Ability to understand, synthesize, and communicate market and regulatory changes that will provide distinct, strategic advantages to Siemens solutions ● Ability to execute strategic account mapping and influence decision makers. ● Ability to travel domestically and internationally. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: ● 8+ years in commercial transportation, automotive, infrastructure and/or energy markets ● 2+ years of energy technology sales experience ● 2+ years in the electromobility solution/infrastructure business ● Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills ● Excellent leadership and management skills ● Cloud-based enterprise software sales experience ● Master’s degree in Energy/Infrastructure/Power related field ● Languages: French and English.
