Business Development Director - India

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Director to join our team in India. As a leading player in the multiple language vendor industry, we are expanding our operations and looking for an exceptional candidate who can not only drive sales but also build lasting relationships with our clients' higher management, including C-level executives. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a proven track record of success in sales, and in-depth knowledge of Translation Management Systems (TMS), Machine Translation (MT) solutions, and e-learning solutions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Leadership:
    • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth.
    • Identify potential clients, conduct market research, and proactively reach out to prospects to generate leads.
    • Lead negotiations and manage the entire sales process, from prospecting to contract closure.
  2. Relationship Building:
    • Establish and maintain strong, trustworthy relationships with clients' senior management, including C-level executives.
    • Gain a deep understanding of clients' vision, strategies, and business needs to effectively align our solutions with their objectives.
  3. Solution Expertise:
    • Understand and articulate RWS business and solution offerings, unique selling points, and competitive advantages with an emphasis on understanding how solutions solve customer issues.
    • Possess a comprehensive understanding of Translation Management Systems (TMS), Machine Translation (MT) solutions and e-learning solutions to articulate their value and benefits to potential clients.
  4. Client Consultation:
    • Conduct insightful consultations with potential clients, understanding their pain points, and recommending tailored solutions to meet their specific requirements.
    • Provide expert advice and industry insights to clients, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor in the localization and language services space
  5. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the marketing and solution teams to align sales strategies with marketing initiatives and product enhancements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and project execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales position in a multiple language vendor industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal English and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with and present to C-level executives.
  • Expertise in localization industry, localization processes, local market insight.
  • Knowledge of the Translation Management Systems (TMS), Machine Translation (MT) solutions, and e-learning solutions and best practices will be an advantage.
  • Established capabilities managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently with a sense of urgency.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
