Job Description

The Brisbane Airport Hotels Group encompasses the Pullman, Novotel and ibis Brisbane Airport Hotels, as well as the Brisbane Airport Conference Centre. With 532 guest rooms, 3 restaurants, Rooftop Bar & Restaurant, Executive Lounge and 12 meeting spaces collectively totaling 1800m2. Located at the Brisbane Airport Domestic Terminal, it is the first accommodation, meeting and event space to be developed in this precinct.

The Group is currently seeking a motivated Business Development Executive to join our dynamic and professional Sales & Marketing team. The ideal candidate will be from a sales or conferencing background.

Key Responsibilities Include: 

  • Undertake proactive sales activities including sales calls and appointments to identify new sources of corporate and group business for conference centre and hotels.
  • Negotiate corporate rates with new corporate accounts and travel management companies. 
  • Account manage an extensive portfolio of corporate accounts to foster the relationships and grow market share.
  • Drive partnerships with key sporting bodies to maximise exposure during local area sporting events.
  • Provide quotes for group enquiries. 
  • Strategically setup promotional codes and work with the hotel manager on revenue and rate strategies during peak periods.   
  • Complete and submit hotel RFP's.
  • Drive the sales culture across the hotels and conference centre to ensure sales leads and opportunities are followed up.  
  • Accurately report all sales activities.
  • Prepare any other reports required by the Director of Sales & Marketing.  

To be successful in this role, you must have;

  • 12 months plus experience in a business development role either within hotels, travel agency or in similar industries OR equivalent experience working in a leadership position within hotel, tourism or travel sectors    
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Highly organised and efficient, with excellent time management skills
  • High standard of personal presentation  
  • Experience with hotel reservations systems is preferred but not required. 
  • Microsoft Office and general computer literacy is essential.
  • Understanding of distribution channels, GDS, OTA, government sectors and direct highly regarded.
