Job Description
Position Summary:  Business Development Executive - Drug Products, Northern CA
The Business Development Executive (BDE) role is focused on representing and expanding the Small and Emerging Drug Product Manufacturing Services business at Patheon, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific. This is a multi-faceted role within our organization and is directly responsible to drive sales revenue growth through the development and implementation of strategies to generate sales from new accounts in the assigned territory. The BDE builds an internal and external network that enables client success. Identifies new target clients, follows through on leads from a variety of sources. The BDE’s focuses on winning new projects for Patheon’s industry leading Drug Product and Pharmaceutical Development manufacturing services. 
Based remotely in San Francisco, East Bay or Peninsula Area of Northern California.

What will you do?    
  • New Business Development including identifying new molecule opportunities with new or existing clients through understanding of the market, appointment based strategic selling, leveraging personal network, interaction with other PSG (Pharma Services Group) and Thermo Fisher Scientific teams and following up on leads.
  • Creating and executing sales programs for new prospective clients to increase awareness of our service offering and key differentiators from our competition.
  • Attends tradeshows/ conferences/ seminars to increase awareness of our broader capabilities and as a source of lead generation.
  • Identifying and presenting our value proposition, including opportunities for strategic bundling of our services.
  • Manages the ongoing relationship with existing clients.
  • Enables winning quotations and has a key role to play in the contract negotiation phase.
  • Manages, updates, maintains and records all relevant activities in the SFDC database, and shares information and background on prospective clients within the territory to our stakeholders.
How will you get here?
  • Bachelor’s degree required, in a related field such as microbiology, cellular biology, chemical engineering, and/or chemistry preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience performing and/or selling related services within the Biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Established contacts in major pharmaceutical organizations.
  • Professional presentation skills and ability to network within senior management ranks.
  • Travel ~20%.
