The Role
Business Development function in NI is a key strategic differentiator in NI sales organization, which is designed to focus on leading new business growth aligned with NI business unit strategies. Business Development Managers are customer-facing best in class technical and business domain experts in NI's focused high potential growth areas, who will lead & enable the Sales organization to effectively generate new business through penetration into industry eco-systems and key accounts in the region. Business Development Managers also represent regional voice that will influence NI future offering decisions in business units to best support regional growth in their focused areas.
We are now recruiting a Business Development Group Manager who will be managing multiple (Senior) BDMs in areas of Aero&Defense, Government and Academic in APAC market (China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, A&A). This role will be responsible for new business growth in these areas in the region, with a reporting line to APAC Business Development Function Head.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic driver for NI APAC/China to accelerate business growth and account penetration into Aero&Defense and Government market
- Business Ownership for new business growth in areas of Aero&Defense, Government and Academic in APAC market through working with BDMs in team, other key stakeholders in company, partner eco-systems in market, as well as executive-level influencers in leading customers
- Managing each BDM’s Execution to achieve Individual KPIs; Managing and contributing BDM function Execution to achieve team KPIs
- Coaching & Developing Team in Domain Expertise, Sales Skills, Business Planning, Leadership & Influence skills etc
- Recruiting & retaining key talents in responsible areas in BDM function
- Identify key gaps & growth opportunities in responsible areas in the region, and influence company investment decisions effectively
Qualifications
- Location: preferred in China
- 10+ years of working experience in international T&M related companies with 3+ years sales management, marketing management or business development management experience
- Domain expertise and strong industry network in Aero&Defense, Government market. Deep understanding of methodologies of penetrating Aero&Defense accounts in China
- Proficiency in Business English language and Chinese
- Key Skills: People management; Coaching; Business Planning; Customer Engagement; Strategic thinking; Influencer; Networker
- Acceptance of 30%-50% travel time
- Understanding or Mastery of NI tools would be a plus
