There is a rare and exciting opportunity for sales & marketing young professional to join our team as Business Development & Groups Reservations Coordinator on a full-time basis.

Reporting to our Director of Commercial & Guest Experience, the successful candidate will assist with the proactive and reactive sales of the hotel across all market segments, including but not limited to MICE, Corporate, Entertainment, Sporting, M&E and Leisure market segments; as well as the coordination of the group accommodation reservations.

In this role you will:

  • Assist the Senior Business Development Manager with proactive and reactive sales within MICE, Corporate, Entertainment, Sporting, M&E and Leisure market segments.
  • Assist the Senior Business Development Manager and Group Reservations Manager achieve budget targets relative to the all relevant market segments.
  • Assist the Groups Reservations Manager to coordinate group reservations of 10 rooms or more, including but not limited to 90/60/30 day touch points, rooming lists, payments, cancellations and terms & conditions.
  • Preparation of group information sheets (group movements) and briefing of all involved hotel operational teams prior to arrival of group.
  • Maintains a precise filing system for all Group reservations and correspondence as directed by Groups Reservations Manager.
  • Handle guest complaints and enquiries in an efficient and professional manner and ensure the Director of Sales & Marketing is informed of any guest feedback.
  • Coordination and hosting of familiarizations and site inspections for prospective and current clients, adhering to site inspection standard operating procedures.
  • Conducting presentations to PCO’s, bookers of accommodation and events, consortia, and call centres.
  • Preparation of tenders for business, and the negotiation of rates and terms and conditions as required for all market segments.

 

What we are looking for?

  • Experience in reservations or sales & marketing roles within a hotel environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Hotel management an advantage
  • A creative flair and a natural ability to generate ideas to engage our guests
  • Demonstrated drive and initiative
  • The ability to work within a team and build report with all departments in the business
  • Highly organised self-starter with the ability to effectively manage priorities
  • Projects a professional image through presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to think on their feet and problem solve
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence
  • Verbal and written fluency in English on a business level; additional languages are a plus
  • A high standard of grooming and presentation
