Reports to: Manager, Life Sciences
Position Summary: The Business Development Manager is a field sales position responsible for developing and growing the market for inherited diseases and reproductive health in SEASG. This Business Development Manager will cooperate with the sales team and channel partners to drive adoption of solutions from Genetic and Clinical Science divisions for inherited diseases research and reproductive health market. Based on SEA sales manager’s strategies and focus area, Business Development Manager will actively drive the focus and lead the market development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Territory Management and Development:
- Build a territory business development plan for the portfolio, gain stakeholder alignment and implement the aligned plan to exceed sales targets.
- Consistently and accurately manages sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management and sales tracking.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Developed and own key relationships of KOLs in SG and SEA.
- Produce forward customer territory plans, maintain an accurate, detailed customer record in the CRM.
- Knowledge sharing with internal and channel partners on best practices.
- Provides internal partners with business planning and development consulting to ensure effective strategies
- Expands internal networks, contacts and relationships to maintain selling effectiveness.
- Product / Market Knowledge:
- Identify trends in inherited diseases market, engage early and collaborate with key opinion leaders in SEA and SG to develop projects.
- Increase market share in reproductive health market through development of new accounts and product menu expansion for existing customers
- Develops and maintains deep current knowledge of genetic analysis markets, products and buying practices.
- Utilizes product and application knowledge across the genetic analysis portfolio to successfully apply consultative and strategic selling presentations.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Requires a Scientific Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience.
- A Master’s or PhD degree is desirable.
- Knowledge of other genetic platforms valued.
- Sales acumen and Independent Driver - accomplished sales skills, can speak to competitive technologies and demonstrates value as a supporting partner in the pre-sales process , while also independently driving sales to meet sales targets.
- Candidate profile minimum of 3-5 years sales experience in Life Science or Clinical field is preferred.
- Experiences in inherited disease and carrier screening related applications before.
- Experiences in driving reimbursement programs
- Experiences in driving health economics impact studies
- Knowledge of clinical accounts in territory is preferred.
- People with great influencing skills, great sales rigor to get results through others
- 50% travel required
