POSITION OVERVIEW:
Ascend Performance Materials is a rapidly growing global leader in the production of PA 6,6, and we are seeking a
Business Development Leader for Asia in the Engineered Plastics business unit. The individual will be responsible
for enhancing Ascend’s brand recognition at targeted customers with the aim of accelerating approvals and
specifications to support our business growth objectives. This individual will be networking with various
commercial, technical and manufacturing functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Develop and maintain opportunity pipeline in CRM to meet growth targets
 Understand and articulate the customer requirements for service and new products
 Obtain the product / application approvals at customer (e.g. tiers, OEMs etc)
 Refine customer engagement strategy and develop detailed plans to implement
 Position Ascend to be a recognized strategic and reliable material supplier with both purchasing and
engineering functions
 Lead the Asia Business Development team
 Lead engagement with relevant industry associations
 Increase Ascend brand recognition

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
 PhD degree in Engineering and Commercial experience required
 > 10yrs of relevant industry experience at target customers with associated strong network
 Experience in managing senior level relationships in the automotive industry
 Public speaking as an expert in conferences
 Strong interpersonal skills
 People leadership skills through influence
 Strategic thinking and ability to implement with specific actions
 Strong communication skills and fluent in Mandarin and English
