Position Description:
The Business Development Manager (Alt Routes) will be primarily responsible to
establish relationships with a targeted group of partners. They will drive
business development with existing partners, with some assistance in the
development and onboarding of new partners. They would play an integral part
in building brand awareness and establishing new opportunities through
consistent research, program development and partner education. Some of the
additional responsibilities of a business development professional include
learning about a company’s product line and pending developments, presenting
sales pitches to prospective partners, overseeing lead generation efforts and
researching demographics, statistics and customer needs to determine effective
methods of marketing. Communication, written, verbal and presentation are
essential to success.
This individual will be interfacing on a regular basis with our Account
Executives as well as each partner to build business plans and communicate
business results and trends as it relates to partner performance and program
earnings. The Business Development Manager (Alt Routes) has the responsibility
to manage the route, including analyzing and interpreting data to tell a
broader story of the business. Will be a proficient Excel user with the
ability to use pivots, formulas and have the ability to create or guide the
creation of models, etc. This person is responsible to understand relevant
trends including industry, economic, partner performance, and competitive in
order to be able to make strategic recommendations to partner leadership,
channel sales and leadership teams. This person should have balanced
experiences between sales, partner support and operations in order to
effectively support the planning and growth for this partner set in a non-
commissioned environment.

#### Position Requirements:
Core responsibilities Include:
Be a subject matter expert in the alternative route to market (OEM, ITSP,
alliance, etc)
Understand the go-to-market strategies of the partner set and be able to make
strategic recommendations to generate growth
Establish and grow relationships with target partners
Assist MSP partners with business planning around Lenovo
Cultivate and develop relationships with the partners and the Lenovo Sales
Team in order to become the trusted SME
Work side by side with the Channel Manager to recruit, train, and manage
emerging partners to sell our strategic product set
Conduct market specific trainings, event management, and prospect appointments
Own, promote and drive Lenovo Program awareness with partners
Analyze sales volume/selling reports, maintain in-season forecasting, and
perform competitive analysis regularly to make recommendations to increase
channel partner business.
Work cross-functionally with Community, Financing, Sales, Product Management
and Category Team to remove any execution inhibitors
Requires up to 60% travel to attend trade-shows, round tables, partner and
distributor events to build awareness of the Lenovo opportunity
